The Hildegard von Bingen Society for Gardening Companions transplants, reroots, and propagates a queer, feminist gardening society founded by 12th century mystic and musician Hildegard von Bingen.

In 1987, a documentary-style talk show, bingenTV (1987), was produced about the society. It was aired publicly for the first time as part of an exhibition at Mimosa House (Oct 26-Dec 7 2023) and is now showing in Winnipeg, Canada at VideoPool’s Poolside Gallery (June 6-Aug 1 2025).

Most recently, members of the society participated in a learning garhering in the ancient wetlands of Xochimilco, Mexico City, with the organisation Ruta del Castor, read more about the project here.
